Introduction
Over a century ago diplomacy—the formal practice of managing negotiations among countries—was operated under much different and more formal rules.
In our days, Diplomacy is among the practices most drastically affected by the Internet, interconnectedness, the private sector, the media, and, yes, the Blackberry. We call this practice all sorts of new names such as public diplomacy and citizen diplomacy. Simply put, we all practice this new diplomacy—an all encompassing practice that has come to include the public and private sectors in an unprecedented public-private partnership for global engagement.
In this page we give you a glimpse of this ever evolving and exciting world of Diplomacy. We give you an intimate look at what makes and shapes the diplomatic community in Washington, DC and New York, and around the world covering social, cultural, and intellectual events. And we give you a calendar with local and global events so you, too, can be a part of New Diplomacy.
