DiAnne Owen Graham
Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development
Cultural Diplomacy Event Series

Ms. Graham joined the Diplomatic Courier in April of 2009 as Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development. She will lead the efforts for the recently launched Cultural Diplomacy Series.

Previously, DiAnne served as a political appointee in President George W. Bush’s administration in Washington, DC. During her tenure, she led the newly-established Outreach Initiative as the Senior Outreach Protocol Officer, directed by Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, Chief of Protocol. The Outreach Initiative provided opportunities for the Diplomatic Corps to “Experience America” through an innovative program designed to facilitate relationships with business, government, and cultural sectors across the U.S.

Prior to joining the Office of the Chief of Protocol, DiAnne served in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) at the U.S. Department of State as Chief of Staff to Dina Habib Powell, the Assistant Secretary for ECA. DiAnne also served as Director of International Initiatives for the Office of Academic Programs in ECA.

She has previously worked for Governor Haley Barbour in Washington, DC and in Mississippi, directed the International Program at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York and lived in Nagoya, Japan where she served as the Senior Advisor to Lisa Gable, the U.S. Ambassador to the 2005 World EXPO.

DiAnne is a native of New Albany, Mississippi. She majored in Marketing at The University of Mississippi where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. During her undergraduate studies at The University of Mississippi, she also studied in Montpellier, France while completing her minor in French language and culture.

In 2006, DiAnne was selected as the youngest member to join the Board of Directors of The University of Mississippi Alumni Association. She is the Chairman of the Board for the Mississippi Society of Washington, DC and is a member of The Japan-America Society of Mississippi.
