Rami Turayhi

A Chicago-area native and the son of Iraqi immigrants to the United States, Rami is currently pursuing his J.D. at Columbia Law School in New York. He completed his undergraduate studies in international politics and security studies at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, and subsequently finished a Master's program there as well in Arab Studies with a politics concentration. While at Georgetown, Rami spent six months as an intern at the Department of Defense's Northern Gulf (Iraq policy) office. He also studied abroad in both South America and Lebanon. After graduation, Rami worked for a year in alternative energy and power investment banking in NYC, and later took six months to travel around the world on his own. Following his first year of law school, Rami worked as a summer associate for a U.S. law firm in both Dubai and Texas,where he focused on energy and project finance law. Rami is proficient in Arabic and speaks conversational Spanish.
